LibreOffice for the desktop stores files on the hard disk or on the data center of your choice. LibreOffice Online is available from ecosystem companies (not from The Document Foundation), and is associated with the cloud of your choice. We suggest to use Nextcloud, which is European and can be installed on any data center, including European ones compliant with the GDPR.

Hi

We have a potential requirement to use LibreOffice but before we allow this can you confirm where
our data would be stored? For us to use Libre office the data centre needs to sit within the EU/UK
to ensure GDPR compliance and not be shared across international data centres. Does this only apply
to LibreOffice in the cloud?

Thank you
