Hi :)
Chances are that LibreOffice does implement the features but possibly uses different process and/or 
a different name.  The "Getting Started Guide" might help, especially the chapter about Styles.

Styles  is one crucial difference and much more powerful in LibreOffice.  Styles in LibreOffice 
saves me tons of time!
